Job Summary:
The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for leading and scaling Shopify and digital sales channels, with a focus on driving online revenue growth and optimizing the customer journey from discovery through delivery. This role plays a key part in advancing the organization\'s digital strategy by managing web content, enhancing user experience, and implementing data-driven initiatives to improve traffic and conversion. The position requires expertise in Shopify management, SEO, web analytics, digital merchandising, and cross-functional collaboration. The E-Commerce Manager applies strategic and hands-on approaches to increase efficiency, strengthen brand presence online, and position the business for long-term growth.
Essential Job Functions:
E-Commerce Strategy & Site Management

  • Own the e-commerce sales budget and revenue forecasting-set targets, track performance against KPIs, and adjust strategy to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Own and operate the Shopify storefront-ensuring all products, content, navigation, and collections are optimized for usability and conversion.
  • Develop and execute SEO strategies to boost organic traffic and search visibility.
  • Monitor and analyze site performance (Google Analytics, Shopify Reports, etc.) and identify key areas for improvement to maximize revenue and customer engagement.
  • Optimize content, metadata, and on-site search to align with SEO best practices.
Digital Merchandising & Content
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to maintain visually compelling product and landing pages with engaging copy, photography, and promotional banners.
  • Regularly update the online store with new product launches, promotions, and inventory changes.
  • Manage product categorization and collection strategy for both B2C and B2B channels.
Operations, Inventory & Fulfillment
  • Manage the e-commerce budget, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities across operations, tools, and logistics.
  • Collaborate closely with the warehouse and fulfillment team to ensure timely, accurate shipping and returns, delivering a seamless customer experience.
  • Partner with the warehouse to maintain real-time inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, and prevent overselling or stockouts.
  • Establish and refine processes with the warehouse team to support efficient picking, packing, and order tracking as the business scales.
  • Coordinate with customer service to resolve order issues, returns, and escalations quickly and effectively.
Marketing & Customer Growth
  • Work closely with the Director of Retail and Brand Strategy to align e-commerce campaigns with overall brand goals and promotions.
  • Provide strategic input into email marketing, paid media, and social commerce campaigns.
  • Integrate customer feedback and data insights to improve the shopping experience and increase customer lifetime value.
Technology, Tools & Innovation
  • Maintain and improve integrations with platforms like ShipStation, email marketing tools, and third-party Shopify apps.
  • Coordinate with IT teams or developers to implement new features and troubleshoot site or shipping errors.
  • Stay current on e-commerce best practices, conversion optimization techniques, and industry trends.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Shopify store management and digital merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, and conversion optimization.
  • Experience managing D2C and B2B e-commerce operations.
  • Proficiency with ShipStation, Shopify apps, and inventory management systems.
  • Basic front-end coding knowledge (HTML, CSS) preferred.
  • Proven ability to grow and manage digital sales channels.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
