As the business continues to scale, the finance team plays a critical role in strengthening accounting operations, improving financial visibility, and supporting sustainable growth.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The company is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented <strong>Senior Accountant</strong> to support and scale its accounting and finance operations.</p><p>This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who has worked with U.S. accounting processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment and enjoys taking ownership of full-cycle accounting processes with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and process improvement.</p><p>Experience in SaaS, technology, startups, subscription-based businesses, recurring revenue models, or U.S.-based companies is highly preferred, but the company is also open to strong accounting professionals with transferable experience in financial reporting, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and complex reconciliations.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Monthly Accounting & Financial Reporting</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and support full-cycle financial statements.</li><li>Support month-end and year-end close processes.</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.</li><li>Provide variance analysis against departmental budgets and identify key financial trends.</li><li>Review Profit & Loss accounts to ensure proper coding, allocations, and classification across departments.</li><li>Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.</li><li>Support accruals, prepaids, intercompany activity, and other month-end accounting entries.</li><li>Help ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.</li></ul><p><strong>Revenue Recognition & SaaS Accounting</strong></p><ul><li>Support reconciliation processes related to deferred revenue and unbilled Accounts Receivable.</li><li>Assist with revenue recognition for SaaS subscription, usage-based, recurring, or contract-based billing models.</li><li>Review revenue-related data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper support.</li><li>Assist with accounting treatments related to SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue operations.</li><li>Partner with internal teams to resolve revenue, billing, or reporting discrepancies.</li></ul><p><strong>Reconciliations, Compliance & Accounting Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.</li><li>Help manage accounting processes related to fixed assets, including additions, disposals, amortization, and depreciation.</li><li>Support equity-related accounting processes, including stock-based compensation or ESOP-related accounting, when applicable.</li><li>Assist with sales tax and economic nexus research across U.S. states and international jurisdictions.</li><li>Prepare and maintain sales tax working papers and supporting documentation.</li><li>Support year-end close, audit requests, and compliance-related processes.</li></ul><p><strong>Process Improvement & Finance Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to finance team projects, systems improvements, and operational initiatives.</li><li>Identify process inefficiencies and proactively recommend scalable solutions.</li><li>Support workflow optimization as the company continues to grow.</li><li>Independently research and resolve accounting issues, reconciliation discrepancies, and reporting inconsistencies.</li><li>Help strengthen documentation, internal controls, and accounting processes.</li></ul><p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with Finance leadership and department heads on budget reviews and reporting analysis.</li><li>Coordinate with external partners, including Employer of Record representatives, international tax advisors, and external auditors.</li><li>Communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.</li><li>Support internal teams with accounting-related questions and financial reporting needs.</li><li>Work closely with remote, international teams in English.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Professional accounting designation required, such as Colombian Public Accountant certification, CPA, or equivalent.</li><li>3–6+ years of accounting experience.</li><li>Strong experience with financial statements, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.</li><li>Experience with U.S. accounting processes, U.S.-based companies, or international accounting environments strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience in SaaS, technology, startups, subscription-based businesses, or recurring revenue models preferred.</li><li>Understanding of deferred revenue, accruals, unbilled AR, and revenue recognition.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.</li><li>Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and meet deadlines.</li><li>Strong English communication skills required for cross-functional collaboration.</li><li>Must be based in Colombia.</li></ul><p><strong>Technical Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.</li><li>Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.</li><li>Experience with modern finance tools is a plus, such as Wise, Float, Ramp, Plooto, or similar platforms.</li><li>Familiarity with financial reporting, accounting automation, or SaaS finance platforms is a plus.</li><li>Comfortable working with large data sets, reconciliations, and financial schedules.</li><li>Experience with other accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Siigo, World Office, or similar platforms is also
