About the role

We’re looking for a professional and proactive individual to join our Profit Protection team in a key security role based at our Coventry Distribution Centre. As a Security Officer in our Night Team, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our colleagues, visitors, and company property. This varied and rewarding position involves monitoring access points, managing CCTV systems, conducting patrols, investigating incidents, and liaising with emergency services—ensuring every aspect of site security is handled with professionalism and care.

Key responsibilities

As a Security Officer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our people, property, and operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Controlling access to the site and managing entry/exit procedures for staff, visitors, and contractors.

  • Monitoring CCTV systems and reviewing footage to support investigations and incident resolution.

  • Acting as a keyholder and managing the secure opening and closing of the site, including alarm and access control systems.

  • Conducting regular patrols to identify and prevent security breaches, safety hazards, and parking violations.

  • Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, including coordination with emergency services when needed.

  • Carrying out searches of individuals, vehicles, or bags when necessary to uphold site security.

  • Investigating internal and external theft, collecting statements, and supporting the Profit Protection team.

  • Providing first aid (if trained), overseeing contractor activity out of hours, and supporting fire safety and audit checks.

  • This role is based in our Night Team, shifts will be 7pm – 7am.

This role works closely with the Profit Protection team and Distribution management to maintain a safe and efficient environment.

About you

We’re seeking a confident, and reliable individual with strong communication skills and the ability to challenge appropriately when needed. Integrity and professionalism are essential, along with the ability to stay calm and focused in demanding situations.

You’ll need to be proactive and results-driven—comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

Flexibility is key, as the role involves a 48-hours per week (shifts are typically 7pm-7am) over a 3-week rotation period. with occasional additional shifts and “on-call” duties for emergencies or cover.
